Of course, but probably there is nobody and they don't know it.

Well, I wouldn't say "nobody".

Of late I've been in contact with PowerBASIC INC (sales) , helping some new customers receive their purchases.

When the site is down, I've let my contact know.  That doesn't mean the folks I talk to can fix it, just that someone in Florida does know of the problem.

It is unfortunate and they are doing a great disservice to the community and the legacy of PowerBasic by trying to help cover up the nonsense going on.

I really hope this isn't the end of it all. Retrospectively, I'm glad I used Gary Beane's thread program to download the whole Powerbasic discussion forum last week.

Peter

PS First time I've posted here. Those verification letters are pretty difficult to read (although 5+7 was easy!!) - this is my 4th attempt! - 5th attempt

The site is back up now. At least it is accessible from the UK anyway.    ;D

Hope it stays that way.

Peter,
Viele von uns haben bereits einer Alternative für PowerBASIC gesucht und gefunden.
Man kann vorläufig PB nog weiter benutzen aber einmal hört das auf ...

(Many of us have already searched and found an alternative for PowerBASIC. One can still use PB for now, but someday this will be no longer possible).

 :)

reason I asked the question is due to the solar wind interference.
My communications is through  the satellite, since I live at the lop of the world, which is through GCI.

There has been a huge increase in solar energy being released from the sun.

You can check from the following sites

http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ovation/index.html

I wish some of it would come my way.  Right now outside my window the wind is howling, the snow blowing, and everything's frozen hard as a rock.  Been that way since November. :'(

Is it me?
The 'catastrophic implosions' at PB inc that caused the servers being down, email not received, products not released and possibly some other third world kinda experiences...

Wouldn't be easier to hire and setup a decent server instead of the old computers running imo truly unnecessary old fashion cgi scripts (16 bit i heard), server down and so on (over the years).
This groups is very unprofessional by using these techniques.
During the email mess they could have produced a backup mail address, they simply don't do those kind of things.
At least you would have provided users with there setups isn't?
I would crawl to a user's house to bring the goods instead of letting the mess grow on and on.

Sigh.. it feels good now we are not watched by mister paranoia, maybe this will improve something.
Gosh, why do i bother.. it was only my main frustration.., until a few years ago.
Poor decisions and such..

A  bit frustrating on top of everything else. Even though, when it's up and running, the site allows me to log in, I've been unable to post, edit or delete for at least a year, maybe more. I can't imagine what the situation is, or what's going through their minds at this point, because the revenue stream from standard product must be near zero. Just a weekly communication of two sentences would let people know they care. I have to wonder if there's some contract job or other thing going on that's taking all their time and keeping things afloat.

It does not speak well for the future of the product, when they can't even manage to get the forums working properly.  But, most of us recognized the product was dead a year or more back.

AT the moment, I can't access the forum. Seems to be down. Does anyone else experience this problem?

With the return of the inmate and Gary's self promotion, i took the decision to remove my latest contributions from the PB's forum.

I couldn't see how peoples with limited programming knowledge would be able to succeed, where Bob Zale himself has failed.
