Your idea is good, but in my opinion the best way to give the right acknowledgment to Jose', is to put always his name in the About Box of all [our] softwares that use Jose''s based knowledge.

Jose''s main reason is passion and our help is to share his work/name outside the PB enclave.

I have the simplest PayPal personal account possible (no bank account, no credit card) that I opened because a PBer sent me a donation using my email address. I never have asked for donations, but of course I'm not going to refuse them if someone wants to send me one. This will be like refusing a gift from a friend. But the best reward is to know that others find your work useful.
